The standard describes nitrogen gas springs for the special needs of automotive industry. The nitrogen gas springs described are optimised with respect to their force. The nitrogen gas springs with enhanced spring force offer the advantage of providing higher spring force with the same dimensions and stroke lengths. In difference to gas springs described in VDI 3003 the diameters of plunger rods are higher.
