These shanks are the male part of the interface to the machine tools (e. g. milling\/drilling, turning and grinding machines).<\/p>\n<p>This document specifies five types of shanks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>Types A, AB and EB have peripherally grooved flange collars for automatic tool change;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Types C and CB have a flange collar without peripheral groove and can only be changed manually;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>HSK types A and AB can also be changed manually via radial access bore holes in the hollow shank tapers.<\/p>\n<p>This document provides information for dynamically balanced HSK\u2011AB and HSK\u2011CB shanks balancing according to <span class=\"std\"> <span class=\"std-ref\">ISO&nbsp;16084<\/span> <\/span>.
