The changes in noise levels from<br \/>\nstatic to flight conditions are often referred to as<br \/>\nstatic-to-flight effects. The computational procedure is almost<br \/>\nidentical to the method described in Derivation 1 and is applicable<br \/>\nto single-stream jets with circular nozzles.<\/p>\n<p>There are three basic changes in noise spectra when going from<br \/>\nstatic conditions to flight conditions. The first is the spectral<br \/>\nshape change which arises from changes in jet refraction due to<br \/>\nflight. The second and third changes are the shifts in amplitude<br \/>\nand frequency arising from the effects of motion on the source.
