This Standard specifies the test methods for the determination of the following geometrical characteristics of electrical steel strip and sheet.

– Flatness

– Residual curvature

– Edge camber

– Deviation from shearing line due to internal stresses

– Burr height of cut edge

This Standard applies to the electrical steel strip and sheet corresponding to JIS C 2552, JIS C 2553 and B.2, C.21 and C.22 of IEC 60404-1 : 2000.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

lEC 60404-9 : 1987 Magnetic materials.

Part 9 : Methods of determination of the geometrical characteristics of magnetic steel sheet and strip (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISO/IEC Guide 21-1.
