This Standard applies to tungsten filament incandescent lamps (hereafter referred to as the "lamps") for general lighting service which comply with the safety requirements in JIS C 7551-1 and having:

a) rated wattage of 10 W to 200 W, inclusive;

b) rated voltage 100 V;

c) bulbs of the A or PS shapes, or other similar shapes;

The bulb shapes and designations shall be in accordance with JIS C 7710.

d) bulbs with clear or white finishes;

e) caps E26/25.

Cap types and dimensions shall be in accordance with JIS C 7709-1.

Specific cap types are covered in clause 4.

The test methods and measurement procedures specified in this Standard are applicable to the evaluation of lamps which is not directly covered by this Standard (e.g. on various bulb shapes, finish, etc.).

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

IEC 60064 : 2005 Tungsten filament lamps for domestic and similar general lighting purposes -Performance requirements, Amendment 4: 2007 and Amendment 5 : 2009 (MOD)

The symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISOIIEC Guide 21-1.
