This Standard defines the different types of inspection documents supplied to the purchaser, in accordance with the requirements of the order, for the delivery of steel and steel products specified in Japanese Industrial Standards.

This Standard is also applicable to other products upon agreement between the purchaser and the manufacture.

This Standard is to be used in conjunction with other Japanese Industrial Standards which specify the general technical delivery conditions:

for steel and steel products, see JIS G 0404;

for steel castings, see JIS G 0307.

NOTE: The International Standard corresponding to this Standard and the symbol of degree of correspondence are as follows.

ISO 10474 : 2013 Steel and steel products – Inspection documents (MOD)

In addition, symbols which denote the degree of correspondence in the contents between the relevant International Standard and JIS are IDT (identical), MOD (modified), and NEQ (not equivalent) according to ISOIIEC Guide 21-1.
