This document defines a protection profile for a time-stamping trustworthy system that is a software component running on an operating system and that provides timestamps generation services to its requesters. Trust Service Provider (TSP) according to eIDAS Regulation 910/2014/EU are the target audience for operation of such kind of systems.Hardware and other software components (e. g. operating system, drivers, and other software applications) that are needed to provide its services are considered part of the operational environment. The time-stamping systems shall use a hardware secure module (HSM) as defined in EN 419 221-5 for the implementation of the cryptographic operations.The time included in the time-stamps is synchronised with a trusted UTC time source and any external entity can verify the authenticity of the issued time-stamps. Security relevant events will be stored in an audit log.
