This Standard defines the requirements for manufacturing, provision, inspection and quality control of high-quality threaded fasteningdevices (bolts, nuts, studs and screws) hereafter referred to as threaded fasteners or fasteners, used in space hardware.This Standard does not include a complete review of the factors relevant to the fabrication of high quality threaded fasteners. It providesthe definition of the technical requirements and quality control procedures to be applied in the fabrication and supply of threadedfasteners for spacecraft applications.Fasteners for spacecraft applications are those aerospace standard fasteners (i.e. in accordance with LN, DIN or other national or international aerospace standards), or those fasteners meeting or exceeding the requirements in ISO 4759 1 for Product grade A, which also fulfil the requirements for space applications as specified in the present document.

Adopts ISO 898-2:2012, which specifies mechanical and physical properties of nuts with coarse thread and fine pitch thread made of carbon steel and alloy steel when tested at an ambient temperature range of 10°C to 35°C.

Scope

This part of ISO 898 specifies mechanical and physical properties of nuts with coarse thread and fine pitch thread made of carbon steel and alloy steel when tested at an ambient temperature range of 10°C to 35 °C.
Nuts conforming to the requirements of this part of ISO 898 are evaluated at that ambient temperature range.
It is possible that they do not retain the specified mechanical and physical properties at elevated and/or lower temperatures.
NOTE 1 Nuts conforming to the requirements of this part of ISO 898 have been used in applications ranging from –50 °C to 150 °C. It is the responsibility of users to consult an experienced fastener materials expert for temperatures outside the range of –50 °C to 150 °C and up to a maximum temperature of 300°C to determine appropriate choices for a given application.
NOTE 2 Information for the selection and application of steels for use at lower and elevated temperatures is given for instance in EN 10269, ASTM F2281 and in ASTM A320/A320M.
This part of ISO 898 is applicable to nuts:
a) made of carbon steel or alloy steel;
b) with coarse thread M5 = D = M39, and fine pitch thread M8×1 = D = M39×3;
c) with triangular ISO metric thread according to ISO 68-1;
d) with diameter/pitch combinations according to ISO 261 and ISO 262;
e) with specified property classes, including proof load;
f) with different nut styles: thin nuts, regular nuts and high nuts;
g) with minimum height m = 0,45D;
h) with a minimum outside diameter or width across flats s = 1,45D (see Annex A);
i) able to mate with bolts, screws and studs with property classes according to ISO 898-1.
For hot dip galvanized nuts, see ISO 10684.

AS/NZS 3000:2007 ?u=/product/publishers/as/as-nzs-30002007/ Tue, 05 Nov 2024 13:28:56 +0000 Electrical installations (known as the Australian/New Zealand Wiring Rules)
Published By Publication Date Number of Pages
AS 2007-11-12 471
]]>
The presentation of this edition differs from previous editions of AS/NZS 3000 in that the Standard comprises two parts but with both parts bound as one document.
Part 1 provides uniform essential elements that constitute the minimum regulatory requirements for a safe electrical installation. It also provides an alternative regulatory vehicle for Australian and New Zealand regulators seeking to move from the present prescription of AS/NZS 3000 in electrical installation safety and licensing legislation.
Part 2 provides installation practices that achieve certainty of compliance with the essential safety requirements of Part 1. It is primarily a revision of the 2000 edition to provide work methods and installation practices that are 'deemed to comply' with the associated performance outcomes/safety conditions.

Scope

This Standard sets out requirements for the design, construction and verification of electrical installations, including the selection and installation of electrical equipment forming part of such electrical installations.
These requirements are intended to protect persons, livestock, and property from electric shock, fire and physical injury hazards that may arise from an electrical installation that is used with reasonable care and with due regard to the intended purpose of the electrical installation.
In addition, guidance is provided so that the electrical installation will function correctly for the purpose intended.

Specifies the dimensions for unified hexagon bolts, screws and nuts (UNC and UNF threads) in diameters from ¼ in to 1½ in, and the material requirements for steel bolts and screws of strength grades 5 and 8 and for nuts of strength grades 5 and 8.

Scope

This Standard specifies requirements for hexagon nuts and bolts with full-sized shanks and screws with unified screw threads (UNC and UNF) in diameters of 1/4 in to 1 1/2 in inclusive in strength grades 5 and 8.
The Standard is intended primarily to cover steel bolts, screws and nuts used within the temperature range of -50¦C to 300¦C, and does not make provision for products requiring special properties such as weldability or corrosion resistance.
The dimensional and marking requirements (except strength grade marking) of this Standard may also be applied to hexagon nonferrous and stainless steel bolts, screws and nuts.

Specifies the dimensions for bolts and screws with British Standard Whitworth threads in diameters from ¼ in to 6 in, and the material requirements for steel bolts, screws and nuts for general use.

Scope

This Standard specifies the requirements for hexagon bolts and screws with British Standard Whitworth (BSW) thread in diameters from 1/4in to 2 in inclusive and nuts with BSW thread in diameters from 1/4in to 6 in inclusive.

The Standard is intended primarily to cover steel bolts, screws and nuts used within the temperature range of -50¦C to 300¦C, and does not make provision for products requiring special properties such as weldability or corrosion-resistance.

The dimensional requirements of this Standard may also be applied to hexagon nonferrous and stainless steel bolts, screws and nuts.

NOTES:
1 The range of sizes included in this Standard is considered adequate for most of the applications for which this series is likely to be employed.
2 To provide for the time when imperial measuring equipment is no longer available, dimensional and mechanical property requirements in metric units are given in Appendix A.
3 If the purchaser requires other pitch series, i.e. BSF or other thread classes, these should be the subject of agreement between the purchaser and the manufacturer.
