communication technology (ICT) network<\/b> termination.<\/p>\n<p>This document does not apply to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>equipment covered by <span class=\"std\"> <span class=\"std-ref\">IEC&nbsp;62368\u20111<\/span> <\/span>; and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>interfaces to other networks.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  NOTE&nbsp;1\n <\/div>\n<p>An example of \u2018other networks\u2019 is a dedicated Home and Building Electronic Systems\/Building Automation and Control Systems HBES\/BACS network covered by <span class=\"std\"> <span class=\"std-ref\">EN&nbsp;50491\u20113<\/span> <\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>This document specifies the safety requirements of the interface to the <b>ICT network<\/b> only.<\/p>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  NOTE&nbsp;2\n <\/div>\n<p>See <span class=\"xref\">Annex&nbsp;D<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Requirements additional to those specified in this document may be necessary for<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>equipment intended for operation while exposed, for example, to extremes of temperature, to excessive dust, moisture, or vibration, to flammable gases, to corrosive or explosive atmospheres,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>electro medical applications with physical connections to the patient.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The following requirements are not covered by this document:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>functional safety of equipment;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>functional reliability of equipment;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>communication facilities with remote supply using hazardous voltage;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>protection of equipment connected to <b>ICT networks<\/b> from functional
