It sets out the main parameters used to assess the state of preservation of archaeological materials and evaluate the preservation conditions of archaeological deposits and provides a framework for monitoring sites. A \u201cdecision making\u201d framework is included to help readers make appropriate knowledge-based choices.<\/p>\n<p>The procedures described are appropriate for both terrestrial and underwater archaeological sites.<\/p>\n<p>The informative annexes relate primarily to terrestrial sites; for detailed technical guidance on investigating and monitoring marine sites, see sasmap.eu [<span class=\"xref\">6<\/span>, <span class=\"xref\">7<\/span>].<\/p>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  NOTE\n <\/div>\n<p>Marine sites include all underwater sites and those in the intertidal zone.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>BS EN 17652.
