{"id":376627,"date":"2024-10-20T02:48:58","date_gmt":"2024-10-20T02:48:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bsi-21-30440111-dc\/"},"modified":"2024-10-26T04:59:12","modified_gmt":"2024-10-26T04:59:12","slug":"bsi-21-30440111-dc","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bsi-21-30440111-dc\/","title":{"rendered":"BSI 21\/30440111 DC"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This ISO&nbsp;document specifies requirements for the inherently safe design, protective measures and information for use of robots for an industrial environment.<\/p>\n<p>This ISO&nbsp;document addresses the robot as an incomplete machine.<\/p>\n<p>This ISO&nbsp;document is not applicable to the following uses and products:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>underwater;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>law enforcement;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>military (defence);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>airborne and space robots, including outer space;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>medical robots;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>healthcare robots;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>prosthetics and other aids for the physically impaired;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>service robots, which provide a service to a person and as such the public can have access;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>consumer products as this is household use to which the public can have access;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>lifting or transporting people;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>mobile platforms;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>tele-operated manipulators.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  Note&nbsp;1\n <\/div>\n<p>Requirements for robot systems, integration, and applications are covered in <span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">ISO&nbsp;10218-2<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"non-normative-note\">\n<div class=\"note-label\">\n  Note&nbsp;2\n <\/div>\n<p>Additional hazards can be created by specific applications (e.g. welding, laser cutting, machining). These system-related hazards need to be considered during robot system and robot application design. See&nbsp;<span class=\"std\"><span class=\"std-ref\">ISO&nbsp;10218-2<\/span><\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>This document deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations or hazardous events when used as intended and under specified conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p>This document does not cover the hazards related to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>severe conditions (e.g. extreme climates, freezer applications, strong magnetic fields) outside of manufacturer\u2019s specification;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>underground use;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>specific hygienic requirements;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>use in nuclear environments;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>use in potentially explosive environments;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>use in environments with ionizing and non-ionizing radiation levels;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>hazardous ionizing and non-ionizing radiation;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>handling loads the nature of which can lead to dangerous situations (e.g. molten metals, acids\/bases, radiating materials);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>handling or lifting or transporting people;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the public or non-working adults have access, i.e. service robots, consumer products.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Noise emission is generally not considered a significant hazard of the robot alone, and consequently noise is excluded from the scope of this document.<\/p>\n<p>This is not applicable to robots that were manufactured prior to its publication date.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>BS EN ISO 10218-1.2.
