Preface<\/strong><\/p>\n

This is the first edition of CSA P.11, Testing method for measuring efficiency and energy consumption of gas-fired unit heaters. <\/p>\n

Scope<\/strong><\/p>\n

1.1<\/p>\n

This Standard specifies requirements for measuring the thermal efficiency, electric power consumption, and power factor of gas-fired unit heaters with a maximum input rate of 2 931 kW (10 000 000 Btu\/h) or less (including utility heaters with a maximum input rate of 117.2 kW [400 000 Btu\/h] or less) constructed of unused parts and materials, for use with<\/p>\n

(a) natural gas with an inlet pressure of 34.5 kPa (5.0 psi) or less
(b) manufactured gas
(c) mixed gas
(d) liquefied petroleum gases
(e) liquefied petroleum gas-air mixtures<\/p>\n

1.2<\/p>\n

This Standard covers unit heaters designed to be convertible from natural gas to liquefied petroleum gases and vice versa. <\/p>\n

1.3<\/p>\n

In CSA Standards, shall is used to express a requirement, i.e., a provision that the user is obliged to satisfy in order to comply with the standard; should is used to express a recommendation or that which is advised but not required; may is used to express an option or that which is permissible within the limits of the standard; and can is used to express possibility or capability.<\/p>\n

Notes accompanying clauses do not include requirements or alternative requirements; the purpose of a note accompanying a clause is to separate from the text explanatory or informative material.<\/p>\n
