The application of the standard helps to prove the suitability of the test process on the basis of a suitable combination of exact modeling from prior knowledge and from experimental modeling by means of systematic tests. The standard supplements step 4 (determination of measurement uncertainty) from the standard VDI\/VDE 2600 Part 1 in the event that no simplified procedures are applicable.
