In diffractometry X-ray filters are used for the quasi-monochromatisation of copper and molybdenum lines. The standard describes the operation and application of X-ray filters for the spectral filtering of X-rays. Their use for the selective suppression of spectral lines is explained. The most important filters are listed in a table.
