{"id":591326,"date":"2024-11-05T21:18:52","date_gmt":"2024-11-05T21:18:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/iso-13885-12020\/"},"modified":"2024-11-05T21:18:52","modified_gmt":"2024-11-05T21:18:52","slug":"iso-13885-12020","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/iso\/iso-13885-12020\/","title":{"rendered":"ISO 13885-1:2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This document specifies the determination of the molar-mass distribution and the average molar mass values <i>M<\/i><sub>n<\/sub> (number average) and <i>M<\/i><sub>w<\/sub> (weight average) of polymers that are soluble in tetrahydrofuran (THF) by gel permeation chromatography (GPC).<\/p>\n<p>NOTE    Also known as size exclusion chromatography (SEC).<\/p>\n<p>Even though the chromatograms obtained show good repeatability, it is possible that this method cannot be used with certain polymer types because of specific interactions (e.g. adsorption) within the sample\/eluent\/column system.<\/p>\n<p>The conditions specified in this document are not applicable to the GPC analysis of polymer samples with <i>M<\/i><sub>w<\/sub> values greater than 10<sup>6<\/sup> g\/mol and\/or of polymers with elution limits outside the calibration range (see 7.6 and Annex C).<\/p>\n<p>This document includes no correction method (e.g. for the elimination of peak broadening.
