This Part<br \/>\ndoes not directly impact CDPD subscribers or Mobile End System<br \/>\n(M-ES)manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>This Part assumes that the reader is familiar with CDPD in<br \/>\ngeneral, as presented in [IS-732-100].<\/p>\n<p>In order to properly function, the CDPD Network needs<br \/>\ninformation about CDPD subscribers such as:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022\u00a0The subscriber&#039;s identity<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Limitations Imposed on the subscriber<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 End Systems associated with the subscriber<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Subscriber&#039;s billing status<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Accounting information associated with the subscriber.<\/p>\n<p>The CDPD Subscriber Directory Profile is used for:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Controlling the subscriber&#039;s access to CDPD resources<\/p>\n<p>The CDPDSUBSCRIBERSERVICEFEATURES realizes the information<br \/>\nobject for a CDPD subscriber. This information may be used to<br \/>\ncontrol the subscriber&#039;s access to CDPD resources. Support of<br \/>\nCDPDSUBSCRIBERSERVICEFEATURES is not mandatory but is recommended.<br \/>\nOther mechanisms may be used to implement a Service Provider&#039;s<br \/>\naccess control policies.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Providing information to assist realization of CDPD Support<br \/>\nServices<\/p>\n<p>THE CDPDSUBSCRIBERSUPPORTINFO realizes the information object<br \/>\nneeded to support CDPD accounting and location services. Support of<br \/>\nCDPDSUBSCRIBERSUPPORTINFO is not mandatory but is recommended. [IS-<br \/>\n732-630] specifies how this information is used to support CDPD<br \/>\naccounting.<\/p>\n<p>This Part enumerates the specific features of Directory User<br \/>\nAgents (DUA) and Directory System Agents (DSA) that may be used for<br \/>\nthis particular application of Directory Services. General<br \/>\nrequirements for CDPD DUAs and DSAs are defined in Part 1013.<\/p>\n<p>The information about the CDPD subscriber is maintained in the<br \/>\nCDPD Directory.
