{"id":228985,"date":"2024-10-19T14:53:37","date_gmt":"2024-10-19T14:53:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/uncategorized\/bs-en-60335-2-92003a132010\/"},"modified":"2024-10-25T09:00:49","modified_gmt":"2024-10-25T09:00:49","slug":"bs-en-60335-2-92003a132010","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/pdfstandards.shop\/product\/publishers\/bsi\/bs-en-60335-2-92003a132010\/","title":{"rendered":"BS EN 60335-2-9:2003+A13:2010"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>This clause of Part 1 is replaced by the following.<\/p>\n<p>This International Standard deals with the safety of electric portable appliances for house-hold purposes that have a cooking function such as baking, roasting and grilling, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p>NOTE 101 Examples of appliances that are within the scope of this standard are<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>barbecues for indoor use;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>breadmakers;&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>contact grills (griddles);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>cookers;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>food dehydrators;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>hotplates;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>portable ovens;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>raclette grills;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>radiant grills;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>roasters;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>rotary grills;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>rotisseries;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>toasters;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>waffle irons;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Examples are illustrated in Figure 101.<\/p>\n<p>lAs far as is practicable, this standard deals with the common hazards presented by appliances that ar e encountered by all persons in household and similar environments.<\/p>\n<p>However, in general, it does not take into account:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>children playing with the appliance;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the use of the appliance by very young children;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>the use of the appliance by young children without supervision.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>It is recognized that very vulnerable people may have needs beyond the level addressed in this European Standard. m<\/p>\n<p>NOTE 102 Attention is drawn to the fact that<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>for appliances intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements may be necessary;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>in many countries additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour and similar authorities.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>NOTE 103 This standard does not apply to<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p>stationary ovens and stationary grills (IEC 60335-2-6);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>warming plates (IEC 60335-2-12);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>frying pans and deep fat fryers (IEC 60335-2-13);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>microwave ovens (IEC 60335-2-25);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>barbecues for outdoor use (IEC 60335-2-78);<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>appliances intended for commercial catering;<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>appliances intended to be used in locations where special conditions prevail, such as the presence of a corrosive or explosive atmosphere (dust, vapour or gas).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p><b>Household and similar electrical appliances.
